Lottie’s Story: Finding Home, Hope, and a New Beginning

In March, Lottie Murphy moved into one of our Supported Accommodation services—and began a life-changing journey.

For years, Lottie had battled poor mental health, homelessness, and the uncertainty of life in and out of court. She had never received the support she needed—until now. “I was crying out for someone to take me in,” she says.

At Rehability UK, she found more than just a place to live—she found a community.

A Place Where She Belongs

From the very beginning, our team recognised Lottie’s potential and stood by her, even when times were tough. She moved into a home shared with others who had been through similar experiences—and for the first time, she felt accepted. “No one treats anyone differently here,” she says. “We support each other. The staff and the people here genuinely care.”

What struck Lottie most was the kindness she received, even when she was struggling. “It was a big change at first,” she admits. “But the more I fought against it, the more they cared for me.”

Healing Through Gardening

One of the most meaningful parts of Lottie’s new life has been the home’s garden. It brought back fond

memories of her nan, who taught her how to grow and nurture plants.

With a greenhouse of her own, Lottie found peace and purpose. Her passion quickly spread to others in the home—now, they’re all planting seeds, decorating the space, and watching things grow together. It’s become more than a hobby; it’s a symbol of recovery and connection.

Looking Forward, Not Back

Lottie has come a long way in a short time. She’s doing things she never thought possible—and most importantly, she’s no longer defined by her past.

“I don’t feel shut off or shut down by anyone now,” she says. “I feel home, settled, and stable. I’ve never had a family—but this is my family now.”

At Rehability UK, we’re proud to walk alongside people like Lottie as they rebuild their lives—with care, dignity, and hope for the future.
