Health & Safety Statement

At Rehability UK, the health, safety, and wellbeing of the people we support, our colleagues, and the wider community remain our highest priorities.

We are committed to maintaining safe, caring, and responsive services by meeting and, wherever possible, exceeding all relevant health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and recognised best practice guidance.

Our Commitments Include:

1. Delivering person-centred care and support in environments that are safe, clean, and supportive.

2. Proactively identifying, assessing, managing, and reducing risks through comprehensive care and support planning, regular safety audits, and environmental checks.

3. Safeguarding individuals from harm, abuse, neglect, and avoidable injury.

4. Providing ongoing, role-appropriate training for our staff in key areas including manual handling, infection prevention and control, first aid, fire safety awareness, food hygiene, and medication management.

5. Following robust infection-prevention procedures, including adherence to the latest public health guidance.

6. Maintaining clear systems for reporting, investigating, and learning from incidents, concerns, and near-misses.

7. Ensuring the safe management, maintenance, and use of equipment, mobility aids, assistive technologies, and clinical or healthcare devices.

8. Consulting and communicating openly with colleagues, people we support, families, and health professionals to continually improve safety and promote a culture of openness and learning.

Safe Working Practices

We maintain a strong health and safety culture supported by policies and procedures that include:

  • Risk assessments and crisis management planning

  • Infection control and PPE protocols

  • Workplace safety and lone-working procedures

  • Emergency response and business continuity planning

  • Regular health surveillance for staff, where appropriate

  • Clear responsibilities for managers, staff, and others working with us

All employees are expected to uphold these standards and act with care, vigilance, and integrity at all times to preserve the safety and well-being of themselves and others.

Continuous Improvement

We review our health and safety systems regularly to ensure they remain effective, relevant, and aligned with current legislation, best practice, and learning from internal and external sources. Feedback, concerns, and suggestions for improvement are always welcomed and used to strengthen our approach.
