Hannacott

Hannacott is a 6 bedded residential home for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities. All of the people we support have their own room with an en-suite wet room. There is a shared lounge and dining area, and all of our food is home cooked and healthy. Outside we have a large, wheelchair accessible, garden.

Each of the people we supports days are varied and full and they contribute to the running of the home to the best of their abilities. There are numerous in-house activities including; music therapy, massage, exercise sessions, film nights, baking, arts and crafts and indoor games.
We also make full use of the community with visits to the local pub for lunch, shopping trips into town, swimming, 10 pin bowling and days out. The people we support have been on holidays, both in England and abroad, and live full and active lives.

Our stable and well-trained staff team means that we know all of the people we support really well and are able to maximise their strengths and independence. Our local GP visits every month and each individual attends the dentist on a regular basis. Eye tests are carried out yearly by a local optician.

We are one big family, and respect for each other is a key principle of who we are. Promoting dignity and maximising strengths is at the centre of everything we do.

Meet the Manager

I first started with the company back in 2014 as a support worker in the supported living sector. I wasn't sure about care at all when I first started but the more people I supported and the more I learnt, the more I loved it and found I had a real passion for looking after people, helping them to achieve their goals, build on their independence, and to live their best possible lives.
I have worked my way up the ladder from support worker, completing my level 2 NVQ in health and social care, then to senior support worker, to team leader, and team manager. I was then given the opportunity to move over from supported living services to residential services in October 2025, becoming the prospective Registered Manager for Hannacott.
I am now currently working through my level 5 NVQ and have successfully obtained my CQC registration.
I absolutely love my job and all the people that I have been lucky enough to support along the way, and I wouldn't change a thing. Every experience I've had both positive and negative has helped me to gain more knowledge and experience and has helped me to grow as a person, a carer and a manager.
