Bornel
"In June 2023, Bornel Care joined the Rehability UK Group, enabling us to offer a new option for support for people with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, such as Autism. Bornel Care is based around a welcoming group of cottages on the Devon/Cornwall border.
The dedicated Bornel team has created a range of homes at West Banbury which are suitable for people with learning disabilities and other complex needs. The cottages are situated in five acres of beautiful land on the edge of the village of Broadwoodwidger in Devon, which is within easy reach of the wide range of services and attractions that Devon and Cornwall have to offer.
At West Banbury we work tirelessly to ensure that the team is the best that it can be ~ both highly trained and highly motivated. This ensures that people living at West Banbury Cottages are supported to the highest possible standard. The Bornel Care team include parents, nurses and in many ways the local community who are all passionate about making West Banbury Cottages simply a great place to live.
There are a wide range of activities that can be enjoyed at West Banbury. These include an indoor heated swimming pool, outdoor sports court and five acres of recreational land; with an even wider range of activities available within the local vicinity. We encourage the local community to share the facilities at West Banbury Cottages, such as the swimming pool. This integration ensures that everyone who lives at West Banbury Cottages is truly part of the local community.
West Banbury is evolving every year as we open new cottages to new clients, whether on our core site or in one of the surrounding communities in West Devon. We constantly invest as we grow and thrive. We have plans to develop the swimming pool area into a hydro therapy pool to provide a much needed facility for the local community.
All cottages have 24 hour staff support, dependent on the particular level of need of each individual. The cottages are run as separate units which helps encourage a family or house-share environment. People who live at West Banbury Cottages are involved in the day-to-day running of their home which includes, planning meals, trips and daily activities.
The cottages are fully equipped with modern kitchens, comfortable lounges and individual bedrooms ~ which all helps to promote independence."
