Apperley House
Apperley House is a registered care home provider for Aspects 2, part of the Rehability UK family. It is situated on Gloucester Road, just outside of Tewkesbury town centre.
Apperley House also has an annexe called Malvern Crossing which is under the same registration with the Care Quality Commission and the combined properties offer accommodation and personal care for seventeen people aged 18-65 who have profound and multiple learning and/ or physical disabilities. Staff will undertake specific training to support individuals with very complex medical and social care needs.
Apperley House & Malvern Crossing accommodates individuals with limited mobility and moderate to severe learning disabilities who will need support and guidance in all aspects of their lives. The homes will endeavour to nurture the people we support holistically, to encompass physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs through the development of a detailed person centred care package. This will be regularly monitored and reviewed to take into consideration individuals changing and complex needs and wishes.
Downstairs has six bedrooms with en-suites all equipped with hoists integral to the rooms. There is also one disabled WC, and a shared specialist bath with overhead hoisting equipment, a utility room, communal living areas including a kitchen, dining / arts and crafts area, and a large lounge. There is also a separate activity room with sensory activities. The emphasis of the house layout is on sensory stimulation, to enable individuals to benefit from auditory, visual and olfactory senses from their environment.
The home’s office is also situated on the ground floor opposite the main entrance. The utility room is separate from the main building.
The first floor offers 4 single bedrooms. All of the bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms. In addition, there is a sleep-in room with an en-suite shower for staff/visitor use. There is another smaller kitchen and a lounge for individuals to use as they wish.
There are wheelchair accessible patio areas situated around the back of the house, and parking at the front of the house. The garden is self-contained with opportunities for the people we support to choose how they wish the garden to be used. There is a sensory growing area which is central to the garden area, and a wheelchair swing, with the emphasis of the garden area being on sensory stimulation.

I have a passion to support each individual to ensure they are happy and cared for, and to see the people we support happy is one of the reasons I love my job.
I really enjoy the interactions with the people we support and the fact that even the smallest of actions we take can have a positive influence.
I believe that we are here to enable the individuals at Apperley House to live the best life possible with no worries over health, medication, nutrition or support because it is all in place and provided by staff who know them well.
I believe we should look after all aspects of an individuals life and value family input here, I see Apperley House as the individuals home, not our workplace.
